THE BEACHES OF THE VENDICARI NATURE RESERVE: UNSPOILT NATURE AND SEA
A wild coastline to experience barefoot

THE BEACHES OF VENDICARI

CALAMOSCHE AND MARIANELLI
A natural pools nestled between two rocky headlands
Iconic and sheltered, Calamosche beach is one of the most popular in the Reserve. Accessible via a walk through the vegetation, it is nestled between two headlands that shield it from the wind, creating a cove of calm, turquoise water. It is ideal for snorkelling or simply for floating in the water, in an intimate and peaceful setting.
Marianelli is the wildest beach in Vendicari. Off the beaten track, it is loved by those seeking privacy and a deep connection with nature. With the dunes behind you, the scent of wild fennel in the air and the chirping of crickets: people come here to listen to the sea, read a book and find peace. It is also popular with naturists.
SPIAGGIA GRANDE AND ELORO
Clear waters and seabeds to explore
It is the closest beach to the reserve’s main entrance, easily accessible and overlooking an open, breezy stretch of coastline. Behind it lie the marshes teeming with flamingos; in front, the deep blue of the sea. Perfect for those looking for a convenient beach with plenty of space and an unobstructed view of the reserve’s landscape.
To the north of the Reserve, Eloro beach stretches out near the ruins of the ancient Greek city of the same name. It is a wide, sun-drenched beach with shallow, crystal-clear waters. A place where sea and culture meet, where ancient history unfolds before your eyes as your feet sink into the warm sand.
Casa Vendicari is the perfect base for a holiday where you can soak up Sicily’s pristine coastline and natural beauty at every turn, whilst also being surrounded by history and tradition: be sure to visit the Vendicari Tonnara and the Torre Sveva.
